Synopsis
A ridge will bring dry and warm conditions today. Wetter and cooler weather arrives on Saturday. Sunday remains cool with more wet weather headed our way on Monday. Another front may reach us midweek.
Short Term /Today Through Sunday/
High pressure and offshore flow will lead to one more warm and dry day across western WA. East winds have peaked overnight with 40-50 MPH gusts in the Cascade ridges and 20-30 MPH in the gaps. Winds will continue to ease today. Patchy, shallow, fog is forming once again this morning, especially in areas where the wind is calm. The fog will burn off late this morning. Temperatures will track warmer than average with afternoon highs in the lower to mid 70s. Expect 60s near the water.
Friday night/Saturday will be cooler and wetter as the ridge shifts east and a front and trough move in from the west. The bulk of the rain will fall tonight into Saturday morning and mainly affect the coast and mountains. Showers with a convergence zone are expected Saturday afternoon near the King/Snohomish line. A few sunbreaks are expected outside the convergence zone with afternoon highs in the 50s to lower 60s.
We're in between systems on Sunday for cool but dry weather. Sunday morning lows will be in the 30s and 40s with temps near freezing around the south sound. Highs will be mostly in the 50s. 33
Long Term /Sunday Night Through Thursday/
An upper level low will spin offshore on Monday, with showers mainly clipping the coast. This system will weaken as it shifts farther south on Tuesday, with light/dry offshore flow across western WA. A weak front dissipates as it reaches the region Wednesday night and Thursday for a chance of light rain. 33
