Today through Thursday...

Upper level ridging builds into the region through Saturday. Warmer and drier conditions are forecast as a result. Expect high temperatures in the 50s and 60s today before warming further into the 70s on Saturday. Models have been consistently showing breezy winds coming out of the Bighorn Basin today, bringing gusts in the 30s and 40s mph south of Billings to the MT/WY border.

A dry cold front will move through the area Saturday evening, bringing high temperatures down into the 50s and 60s for Sunday. The latest forecast has temperatures in the 60s to low 70s for the first half of the week.

Depending on the track of a low off the west coast middle of next week, the region could get into a pattern of daily afternoon showers and a few thunderstorms. Currently there are low chances for precipitation across south-central MT Tuesday into Wednesday. There is still uncertainty at this time, so watch the forecast to see how this system progresses.
